Fundraising Event Sept 28th

Join us!

Stop MPRP, Inc. welcomes you to join our first fundraising event on September 28th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We are very grateful to Linganore Winecellars who is graciously donating the use of their beautiful venue for this event. Like so many of us, Linganore is in the proposed pathway which would devastate their vineyards.

During our time together we will have music, the latest news from our organization on our efforts to stop the proposed MPRP, and we will hear from several elected officials who have agreed to attend. We encourage everyone to meet our Board Members and mingle with neighbors as we continue to build a very strong, non-partisan community firmly opposed to new high voltage transmission lines.

Stop MPRP, Inc. remains an all-volunteer organization and all proceeds from this event will be dedicated to our legal and lobbying efforts.

The agenda for this event is as follows:

  • 2 to 3 PM: Music by Mike Kuster of The Catoctin Cowboys
  • 3 to 3:30 PM: Remarks by Elected Officials
  • 3:30 to 4:30: Music by Making Waves
  • 4:30 to 5:00: Music Break and Chance to Mingle
  • 5:00 to 5:30: Remarks by Elected Officials and Updates from Stop MPRP, Inc.
  • 5:30 to 7:00: More Music by Making Waves Band

Join your neighbors, local elected officials, and Stop MPRP, Inc. leaders for a fun and informative afternoon. Guests will hear the latest updates on efforts to stop the proposed MPRP, with remarks from local and state officials, including:

  • Mason Carter, Frederick County Council Member
  • Tom Gordon, Commissioner, Carroll County
  • Michele Guyton, Delegate, Baltimore County
  • Michael Guerin, Commissioner, Carroll County
  • Nino Mangione, Delegate, Maryland House of Delegates
  • Steve McKay, Frederick County Council Member
  • April Miller, Frederick County Council Member
  • Jesse Pippy, Delegate, Maryland House of Delegates
  • Chris Tomlinson, Delegate, Maryland House of Delegates
  • Karen Lewis Young, Senator, Maryland State Senate
  • Brad Young, President, Frederick County Council

We have kept ticket prices affordable for this inaugural event so please bring your family and tell your friends. There will be beer and wine available for sale from Linganore and food trucks available to purchase food. We will have a Raffle with a first prize of 50% of the ticket sales and second prize a gift basket of Stop MPRP swag.

9/28/2024 Update: Online Ticket sales are now closed but walk up tickets are available for purchase at the event!
